Commack Man Seriously Injured in Stabbing

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a stabbing that seriously injured a man in Commack last night. Police officers responded to 49 Walter Court after a 911 call reported an injured man inside his residence, at approximately 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

US approves release of five more Guantanamo detainee

  The United States has approved the release of five more prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay military facility, although this does not mean they will be leaving the controversial prison anytime soon. Three of the five detainees are from Yemen, one is from Somalia, and the other is from Kenya, according to documents posted online by the US Defense Department this week.
