Two are in stable condition, while one faces more severe injuries. Jason Eaton was named as the suspect by the Burlington Police Department , citing collected evidence pointing to his involvement. The incident has sparked a hate crime investigation due to the victims' identity symbolized by the keffiyeh. This emblem of Palestinian culture has prompted concerns about national-origin-motivated crimes, falling under Vermont's hate crime statutes.
